Manuscripts must be written in English and submitted by e-mail in pdf or ps formats (if less than 8MB) directly to the editorial office, CLASjournals@asu.edu, with a  copy to kuang@asu.edu. The authors are encouraged to name one or two appropriate associate editors from the editorial board to review their manuscripts. All communications will be conducted by e-mails

The following files are helpful for you to prepare your manuscript for MBE.
1): MBE template file
MBE.cls;
2): A
sample LATEX tex file tex;
3): The pdf file generated by the above two files (and figure files, not provided)
pdf

To facilitate key words searching and indexing, all manuscripts shall contain AMS subject classification information and key words. In order to read the changes suggested by our copy editors, you may need to use the latest Adobe Reader. Additional information on TEX preparation  can be found at: http://aimsciences.org/journals/Tex_prep.htm.

Author(s) of accepted manuscript MUST prepare their manuscripts using MBE template, comforming to the margin requirements and provide high resolution figures (if any) to ensure speedy quality production. Authors must sign and return the copyright agreements form in the following preference order: scanned file, or surface mail, or fax it to 417- 886-0559

General topics appropriate for MBE include, but are not limited to, the following: all areas of mathematical biology and medicine, computational neuroscience, biomedical signal processing and data analysis, models based on nonlinear dynamics and stochastic processes to understand problems in biosciences and bioengineering, modeling and design of biologically inspired engineering systems, etc. In particular, to be considered by this journal, a paper (except survey papers) should be in one (or a combination) of these three categories:

(a) Papers developing and (mathematically) analyzing scientific models that have concrete applications in biosciences and bioengineering;
(b) Papers devoted to mathematical theory and methods with a clear bioscience and bioengineering motivation whose results lead to an improved understanding of the underlying scientific problem or an improved solution to the bioengeneering problem; and
(c) Papers using numerical simulations or experiments, to reveal or explain new and important biosciences and bioengineering phenomena, where mathematical analysis plays a major role in the analysis and process.

Submission of a manuscript to MBE implies that the main work contained in the manuscript has not been published previously (except in the form of an academic thesis) and it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Papers submitted to this journal must contain a comprehensive introductory section and an in-depth discussion section. The scientific importance and motivations of the paper and its conclusions should be made clear at the outset. Furthermore, the paper must be presented in a way that its main results, and methods, together with their applicability, can be comprehended by people from a wide range of scientific fields. Manuscripts applying standard techniques to slightly new problems or providing mathematical analysis in the absence of significant scientific motivation will not be considered. Papers oriented toward experimentation or numerical simulation must have a novel and sound theoretical explanation.

Survey articles must be timely and of broad interest. It shall have an insightful historical account of the surveyed topic and articulate the topic's scientific importance.
